About the role
- Acts as a trusted business partner to Operations teams, supporting decision-making and driving financial value through performance improvement.
- Oversees and manages regional reporting, consolidating monthly, quarterly and year-to-date (YTD) performance of financial KPIs using Ball’s standardized Operational Excellence routines.
- Supports the Manager, Finance Operations in consolidating and interpreting analyses for the monthly financial close, the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) cycle, and quarterly reviews (3+9, 6+6 and 9+3).
- Assists the Manager, Finance Operations in analyzing spending trends to identify opportunities.
- Provides backup coverage and additional support for tasks performed by the region’s Plant Finance Supervisors, including analysis of monthly financial close results and communicating outcomes.
- Development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Quarterly AOP reviews (3+9, 6+6 or 9+3).
- Monthly updates to financial forecasts ("POV").
- Management of local capital budgets, project control and reporting, including all local investment proposals (AFEs).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills;
- Proficient in MS Office, including advanced Excel skills;
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize activities;
- Practical knowledge of financial and forecasting principles, general business principles, legal and accounting practices, standard costing in manufacturing, financial modeling and accepted management practices;
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Datasul, JDE, etc.) and Hyperion Essbase (or equivalents) is desirable;
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus;
- Willingness to travel;
- English language skills desirable.
