About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Fill bags or totes to proper weight according to plant and outside agency specifications
- Ensure bags are properly sealed to prevent powder leakage
- Stack finished product neatly and orderly on pallets
- Label product with product code, lot number, and special markings
- Sample products for laboratory and customer testing
- Inspect powder samples for specks and foreign matter to ensure product quality and prevent contamination
- Maintain documentation for packaged product, rework, scrap, metal detector checks, weight checks, equipment checks, and utensil checks
- Inspect equipment and report problems to the maintenance department
- Follow GMPs, SOPs, and HACCP Programs
- Practice good housekeeping and assist with cleaning or setting up other areas
- Stage ingredients
- Clean and sanitize packaging equipment and work areas
- Conduct CIP and COP processes
- Perform general maintenance with basic hand tools as needed
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Strong motivation, organization, time management, and oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to give and welcome feedback and contribute to positive team spirit
- Ability to continually stand, walk, handle or feel objects, talk, and use vision and hearing abilities
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to periodically lift up to 50 pounds using safe lifting techniques and equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with unboxing, loading, moving, and packaging product
