About the role
- Interns will work on a variety of projects depending on the accounting service needs of our clients.
- Some projects may include transaction processing, the month-end close process as well as partnering with senior consultants to learn about business processes related to periodic financial reports, KPI’s, and other management reports.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire.
- Must have completed or be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, with a preference for accounting majors.
- Must reside within a commutable distance to a Baker Tilly offer and be willing to work on-site.
- Major in Accounting or coursework in technology-related fields highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel to client locations, including overnight stays, with travel expectations varying by department and office location.
- Flexibility to work overtime or additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to understand own and others' emotions to achieve desired goals.
- Creative problem solving, critical thinking, and research skills.
- Ability to organize information and exercise well-reasoned judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate confidence in decision making and poise in a professional setting.
- Work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
- Highly motivated and embrace challenges as opportunities to grow.
- Quickly adapt to a changing work environment, including the use of software, systems, and technology.
- Outstanding organization and project management skills; Take responsibility for quality and timeliness of projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
