About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the global KYC function, providing strategic direction, governance, and operational oversight.
- Own and continuously enhance the KYC operating model, including workflows, controls, escalation paths, governance structures, and process documentation.
- Maintain and update KYC policies and procedures to reflect evolving business requirements, regulatory expectations, and changes in the external risk environment.
- Partner with business segments and integration teams to provide practical guidance and support risk-informed decision making.
- Develop long-term plans to improve KYC effectiveness, scalability, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day KYC operations, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, queue management, and SLA performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop the KYC Analyst team to drive capability building, performance excellence, and consistent decision making.
- Establish performance metrics and quality controls to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Manage complex KYC reviews, escalations, and exception cases, ensuring appropriate risk-based outcomes.
- Work closely with Legal, Compliance, International Trade Compliance (ITC), Commercial Risk, and business stakeholders to resolve challenging due diligence matters.
- Own relationships with key KYC vendors, including Exiger, Dow Jones, Moody's/Orbis, and other third-party service providers.
- Utilize dashboards, analytics, and performance metrics to identify trends, improve efficiency, and support decision making.
- Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across various departments and drive stakeholder engagement and communication.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Have relevant experience in KYC, compliance, governance, risk management, audit, or related disciplines.
- Have experience leading a KYC function or similar due diligence program within a large multinational organization, preferably within the energy sector or a related industry.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of third-party due diligence, beneficial ownership reviews, sanctions screening, watchlist monitoring, risk-based assessments, and escalation protocols.
- Have experience operating within complex, global matrix organizations and managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
- Possess strong leadership skills with a proven ability to coach, develop, and manage high-performing teams.
- Have experience designing and improving policies, procedures, controls, governance frameworks, and operational processes.
- Demonstrate expertise in vendor management, contract oversight, budget management, and supplier performance governance.
- Be highly analytical with the ability to leverage data and performance metrics to drive operational improvements and informed decision making.
- Possess excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and executive influencing skills.
- Hold a relevant certification such as CAMS, ICA, CCEP, or equivalent, which is preferred.
- Experience with Exiger Insight 3PM or similar third-party risk and due diligence platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of Dow Jones screening tools and compliance monitoring systems.
- Familiarity with Moody's Orbis or similar corporate ownership and company intelligence databases.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, and dashboard-based reporting tools.
- Experience working with workflow management systems, analytics tools, and reporting platforms.
