About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Partner with operations and functional leadership to embed HSE into decisions, strategies, and performance metrics.
Lead global deployment and governance of the Baker Hughes HSE Management System, ensuring environmental compliance.
Establish and enforce environmental governance frameworks to ensure compliance, risk management, and performance.
Oversee compliance programs, including permitting, regulatory reporting, and inspections, ensuring proactive risk mitigation.
Drive environmental risk management by identifying aspects and impacts, implementing controls, and verifying effectiveness.
Provide people leadership, coaching, and mentoring to HSE Specialists and Leads globally, fostering a collaborative culture.
Lead environmental assurance activities, ensuring timely closure of findings and sustained regulatory alignment.
Apply Kaizen, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis to improve performance and accelerate corrective actions related to non-compliances.
Facilitate Learning Teams and apply Human Performance principles to transform incidents into organizational learning opportunities.
Champion sustainability and decarbonization initiatives by supporting carbon reduction and environmental stewardship programs.
Monitor global HSE performance, analyzing trends and influencing stakeholders through actionable insights.

Requirements

What you’ll need

10 years of progressive HSE experience or similar leadership experience across global, multi-site operations, preferably within the energy, oil & gas, or heavy industry sectors.
Extensive knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, management systems, environmental management systems, and global regulatory compliance frameworks, including permitting, reporting, and governance requirements.
Expertise in Kaizen, Lean methodologies, Root Cause Analysis techniques (5-Why, ICAM, TapRooT), and continuous improvement frameworks.
Proven experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing HSE teams across diverse regions and cultures.
Professional HSE certification, such as NEBOSH, CSP, CMIOSH, or an equivalent qualification.
Fluency in English, with additional language proficiency being an advantage.
Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally up to 30–40% of the time.
