About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with operations and functional leadership to embed HSE into decisions, strategies, and performance metrics.
  • Lead global deployment and governance of the Baker Hughes HSE Management System, ensuring environmental compliance.
  • Establish and enforce environmental governance frameworks to ensure compliance, risk management, and performance.
  • Oversee compliance programs, including permitting, regulatory reporting, and inspections, ensuring proactive risk mitigation.
  • Drive environmental risk management by identifying aspects and impacts, implementing controls, and verifying effectiveness.
  • Provide people leadership, coaching, and mentoring to HSE Specialists and Leads globally, fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Lead environmental assurance activities, ensuring timely closure of findings and sustained regulatory alignment.
  • Apply Kaizen, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis to improve performance and accelerate corrective actions related to non-compliances.
  • Facilitate Learning Teams and apply Human Performance principles to transform incidents into organizational learning opportunities.
  • Champion sustainability and decarbonization initiatives by supporting carbon reduction and environmental stewardship programs.
  • Monitor global HSE performance, analyzing trends and influencing stakeholders through actionable insights.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10 years of progressive HSE experience or similar leadership experience across global, multi-site operations, preferably within the energy, oil & gas, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, management systems, environmental management systems, and global regulatory compliance frameworks, including permitting, reporting, and governance requirements.
  • Expertise in Kaizen, Lean methodologies, Root Cause Analysis techniques (5-Why, ICAM, TapRooT), and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing HSE teams across diverse regions and cultures.
  • Professional HSE certification, such as NEBOSH, CSP, CMIOSH, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Fluency in English, with additional language proficiency being an advantage.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally up to 30–40% of the time.
