About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Managing, servicing, measuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting chemical treatment programs
  • Designing, assembling, testing, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing of electro-mechanical assemblies and chemical metering injection systems
  • Maintaining chemical metering injection systems and PLC-controlled analyzers and automation skids
  • Safely managing day-to-day operations of refinery process, finished fuels, and water treatment programs
  • Managing chemical inventories, chemical deliveries, field sampling, laboratory testing, injection system maintenance and reporting
  • Supporting the development and installation of new systems and designs to apply chemical products and technologies
  • Collaborating with team members to drive technical sales and innovative solutions
  • Identifying and coordinating numerous projects to support the application of chemicals and programs in the field
  • Monitoring and maintaining existing programs for customers to provide reporting on performance of applications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in refining, petrochemical or industrial setting
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to interpret, create and design system PFDs & P&IDs
  • Previous experience with designing, building, installing, troubleshooting and repairing chemical metering pump injection systems
  • Previous experience with pipefitting, rigid tubing, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Previous experience servicing and troubleshooting positive displacement, progressive cavity and centrifugal chemical metering pump systems
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and/or familiarity with analytical methods and interpretation
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle as required to perform job duties (motor vehicle record checks will be performed to determine eligibility to drive a company vehicle)
  • A TWIC Card or ability to obtain a TWIC Card
  • Residing in a commutable distance to Joliet, IL
