Nuclear Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the compliance, safety and performance of suppliers involved in the manufacture of critical components for Masoneilan valves used in nuclear applications.
- Assess, qualify and monitor suppliers according to nuclear requirements (RCC‑M, ESPN, ISO 19443, ASME III).
- Conduct system, process and product audits with a focus on nuclear safety and industrial performance.
- Define, communicate and review qualification requirements in coordination with engineering, quality and procurement.
- Verify conformity of materials, processes and controls (CMTR/3.1, NDT, ITP, hold points/witness points) and ensure follow-up of corrective actions.
- Review and approve metallurgical dossiers, including chemical analyses, mechanical properties, toughness, hardness, corrosion, and validate welding process/operator qualifications (QMOS/DMOS).
- Monitor and verify the compliance of non-destructive examinations (RT, UT, PT, MT, VT) according to applicable codes.
- Analyze metallurgical non-conformities and deviations, lead problem resolution and drive robust corrective actions.
- Promote a safety culture, strict document control and regulatory compliance among suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hold an engineering degree (metallurgy, mechanical, materials, quality) with proven experience in supplier quality or nuclear quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear codes: RCC‑M, ESPN, ISO 19443, ASME III, ISO 9001.
- Metallurgical expertise (carbon steels, stainless steels, special alloys) and special processes (welding, foundry, forging, heat treatments).
- Good knowledge of NDT (RT, UT, PT, MT) and advanced interpretation of mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with EDF requirements or other international operators.
- Rigorous, autonomous, analytical, and able to manage multiple topics in parallel.
- Fluent in English and willing to travel up to 50%.
