About the role
- Drive contract excellence and risk management for complex commercial agreements
- Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance and optimal risk/reward balance
- Manage contracts from initiation through delivery, ensuring effective handover
- Negotiate and redline commercial agreements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, optimized solutions for customers
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks, validating the risk/reward balance
- Coordinate multi-stakeholder engagement throughout contract development including presenting risk mitigation strategies to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with commercial risk assessment procedures
- Administer assigned proposals and contracts, including customer interactions, negotiations, and contract interpretation
- Collaborate with internal functions such as Manufacturing, Product Management, Sourcing, Engineering, Finance, and Legal
- Lead proposal, negotiation, and contract administration activities with minimal supervision
- Liaise with functional organizations to ensure clear communication of contractual requirements
- Champion lean practices, digital tools, and rigorous contracting standards to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Law, Finance, or Supply Chain)
- Demonstrated expertise in redlining, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing commercial contracts in a corporate or law firm environment
- Experience in High-Tech industries such as NDT, Aerospace, Electronics, Automotive, Energy, Renewables
- Proven understanding of US jurisdictional law and government contracts
- Strong team player, interacting with all supporting functions and the ability to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
- Experience in complex tendering, contract management, and negotiations
- Ability to manage and execute multiple commercial opportunities to successful completion
- Ability to take ownership, execute and shape results in a global-matrix organization
- Proven capability to establish good relationships with customers and build trust
- Willingness to travel as business requires
- Fluent in English (oral and written) and have excellent all-round communication and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in Opportunity Management & Risk Tools e.g. Deal Machine
- Proficiency in Office 365 Suite
- Proficiency with CLM software (DocuSign, Icertis, Conga)
