- Lead discovery activities to explore opportunities for applying data science techniques to solve customer problems
- Test assumptions on the effectiveness of AI/ML to meet customer needs
- Work as part of an empowered, multi-disciplinary AI team to develop common AI propositions that benefit a range of customers
- Demonstrate the potential of applying data science approaches to meet business needs
- Develop, test and validate machine learning models, providing guidance to others where needed
- Provide strategic & technical advice to customers, considering ethical implications of applying data science approaches
Requirements
- Experience in analysis of user needs and advising on the use of relevant standards, methods, tools, frameworks and processes for data science
- Creativity in applying innovative thinking and design practices to identify solutions that deliver value for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder
- Employing data science algorithms and methods for complex data processing, statistical analysis and advanced analytics
- Designing & building prototypes and Proof of Concept solutions collaboratively
- Conducting data preparation, modelling, labelling and transformation of 'messy' data for the application of data science techniques
- Applying AI/ML approaches through design, development and optimisation of machine learning solutions
- Understanding of ethical, privacy, security and policy concerns relevant to the application of AI/ML
- Expert in Python programming, coding complex programs and scripts
- Supervising junior analysts/scientists and ML engineers, providing guidance & coaching
- Performing assessment of AI-related risks and identifying recommended mitigations
- Shaping product roadmaps & informing strategies to adopt AI/ML
- Offering thought leadership on data science trends, benefits and key considerations presenting to wider communities e.g. blogs, events and conferences
- Developing in Cloud Computing such as AWS, MS Azure (great if you have but not required)
- Utilising CI/CD tools to streamline delivery of new features and fixes (great if you have but not required)
- Designing and modelling AI/ML architectures (great if you have but not required)
- Experience with relational, document, search or graph database systems (great if you have but not required)
- Experience with containerization e.g. Docker, Kubernetes (great if you have but not required)
