About the role
- Act as the primary interface between Project Teams and the Commissioning Group
- Provide subject matter expertise in Commissioning to advise and guide Project personnel
- Collaborate closely with the Commissioning Team to sequence and coordinate commissioning activities
- Ensure all commissioning activities are properly sequenced in accordance with the Project Schedule
- Proactively identify and communicate project risks, conflicts, and opportunities
- Provide regular updates on commissioning progress and performance against schedule milestones
- Maintain detailed working knowledge of the project schedule
- Attend key Project meetings as the designated representative of the Commissioning Team
- Collaborate with scheduling and planning teams on logical progression within the master schedule
- Identify risks and opportunities
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Strong background in Commissioning, Engineering, or Project Integration roles
- Degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technology discipline, or equivalent experience
- Registration as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT), Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T), or Professional Engineer (PEng)
- 10+ years of related technical experience
- Proven ability to work across departments and manage competing priorities
- Experience interpreting and contributing to complex project schedules
- Familiarity with submarine or naval refit programs
- Knowledge of various mechanical or weapon system-related technologies
- Experience with mechanical systems operation, testing, or commissioning
- Communication skills; ability to represent Commissioning interests in multidisciplinary forums
- Strong computer skills including MS Office suite
- Eligible for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
