About the role
- Support strategic communications and secure operations across multiple projects within Mission Systems
- Work closely with operational teams to deliver robust financial insights, improve processes, and support growth initiatives
- Build strong relationships with cost centre managers and bidding teams, delivering monthly reports and variance analysis
- Input into monthly balance sheet reconciliations and overhead reviews, ensuring timely and high-quality documentation
- Complete forecasting requirements with precision and clarity
- Review projects to maximise profit and ensure accurate trading margins
- Lead monthly performance reviews with operational teams, offering insight and challenge where needed
- Support a range of remote projects based in Cumbria and conduct quarterly site visits for a few days at a time
Requirements
- Experience in a project-based Finance Business Partner role
- Experience of the Finance Business Partner
- Proven track record of driving performance and embracing change
- Strong Excel modelling and Microsoft Office skills
- Flexibility to meet tight deadlines and adapt to evolving priorities
- Ideally qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Ability to interpret and present financial data clearly and concisely
- Must be a sole UK national able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance
- Eligible to start on Standard (BPSS) but will need to obtain SC and possibly DV once in post
