About the role
- You'll be at the heart of our Submarine Operations Centre, providing technical expertise that keeps the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet mission-ready.
- Combine engineering knowledge with cutting-edge digital tools to improve maintenance management and design projects that ensure operational success.
- Responsible for the day-to-day provision of engineering support to Royal Navy submarine ships.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues within defined timescales.
- Recommend solutions for system operations, defect history and repair options.
- Interpret technical documentation and advise on material specifications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure maintenance projects meet operational needs.
Requirements
- Essential experience of the Marine Engineer
- Knowledge of submarine in-service support arrangements.
- Experience resolving complex electrical and mechanical investigations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to champion high performance and inspire others.
- Proactive and able to work autonomously to meet deadlines.
- NVQ Level 3 or above in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
