About the role

  • You'll be at the heart of our Submarine Operations Centre, providing technical expertise that keeps the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet mission-ready.
  • Combine engineering knowledge with cutting-edge digital tools to improve maintenance management and design projects that ensure operational success.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day provision of engineering support to Royal Navy submarine ships.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues within defined timescales.
  • Recommend solutions for system operations, defect history and repair options.
  • Interpret technical documentation and advise on material specifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure maintenance projects meet operational needs.

Requirements

  • Essential experience of the Marine Engineer
  • Knowledge of submarine in-service support arrangements.
  • Experience resolving complex electrical and mechanical investigations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to champion high performance and inspire others.
  • Proactive and able to work autonomously to meet deadlines.
  • NVQ Level 3 or above in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
