About the role
- Leading the development and delivery of designs through all lifecycle phases
- Managing and mentoring a small team of engineers
- Producing, checking, and approving technical documentation and drawings
- Conducting engineering analyses, including structural and fluid flow simulations
- Ensuring compliance with nuclear site licence conditions, statutory legislation, and design codes
Requirements
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles for pressure and pipework systems
- Knowledge of the design lifecycle and project specification processes
- Experience in planning, budgeting, and technical documentation
- Expertise in one or more areas: pressure systems, CAD, component simulation, fluid flow analysis, or nuclear plant design
- Minimum HND/FdSc/FdEng or equivalent in mechanical/process engineering
- Professional registration with an engineering institution
- The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
