About the role

  • Maintain a robust control and governance framework while supporting strategic decision-making that impacts projects critical to national security.
  • Provide financial leadership and partner with operational managers to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Manage production of monthly, quarterly, and five-year financial reporting and forecasts.
  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
  • Ensure contract amounts are billed accurately and on time for efficient cash collection.
  • Apply appropriate accounting standards, including IFRS 15.
  • Review projects regularly to ensure compliance with governance requirements.

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of financial systems.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 15 long-term contract accounting (highly desirable).
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry such as defence (preferred but not essential).
  • Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) or equivalent.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
