About the role

  • Leading and motivating teams to deliver complex shipbuilding projects safely, on time, and within budget
  • Managing front-line managers and driving daily business performance
  • Chairing planning meetings with stakeholders to align priorities
  • Reviewing and adjusting build plans to meet delivery targets
  • Overseeing volumetrics throughout the build programme
  • Collaborating with subcontract managers to mitigate downtime

Requirements

  • Essential experience of the Production Manager
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding processes
  • Ability to interpret shipbuilding, piping, and mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with zone working and modern outfitting methods
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project scheduling
  • Time-served trade background
  • ONC/HNC preferred but not essential
  • Recognised safety training (e.g., IOSH, working at height, confined space)
  • Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
