About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan for a wide geographical area
  • Target, penetrate, and establish relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders
  • Call on physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Visit physician offices, hospital pharmacies, operating rooms, intensive care units, and other call points
  • Communicate clear messages in complex clinical situations
  • Conduct periodic field travel with internal personnel
  • Use data sources to maximize strategies, efficiencies, and return on investment
  • Attain or exceed assigned sales and profit goals
  • Manage and track territory-specific information through a CRM system
  • Travel as needed for the territory, including air travel

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 8 years of Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Healthcare Industry sales experience
  • Ability to work independently and manage key account relationships
  • Demonstrated sales growth while managing an assigned territory
  • Documented record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Business acumen and strong comprehension of difficult clinical information
  • Ability to articulate complex clinical messages to healthcare providers in real-time situations
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills, including presenting to teams and groups
  • Strong interpersonal and virtual engagement skills
  • Ability to work with a CRM tool such as Veeva or Salesforce
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred: Buy and Bill and injectable product experience
  • Preferred: Oncology experience
  • Preferred: Hospital sales/account-based selling experience and familiarity with P&T/Formulary processes
  • Preferred: Knowledge of local/regional health systems
  • Successful credentialing with healthcare institutions and third-party credentialing vendors; ability to maintain required credentialing throughout employment
  • Must be able to sit for long periods
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and/or hear
  • May occasionally climb stairs or ride elevators
  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to operate a keyboard, telephone, and handheld devices
