About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Register, label, retrieve, and discard biological and production materials while maintaining required temperatures
- Perform all functions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
- Adhere to FDA Good Practices, ISO, CAP standards, and other regulatory requirements
- Handle infectious and noninfectious biological materials, radioactive materials, chemical compounds, and drug products safely
- Use the Company Inventory Management System for sample handling, chain of custody, and audit trails
- Register samples by scanning barcodes, quality-checking information, and applying labels as required
- Store materials at required temperatures in designated storage units
- Retrieve and package materials for lab services, outbound shipments, and discards
- Perform quality control and discard quality checks
- Investigate and document registration or retrieval issues
- Generate location management reports
- Assist with facility upkeep
- Maintain a clean work environment and follow Universal Precautions for bloodborne pathogens
- Report to either the Indianapolis or Plainfield facility based on business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years’ experience demonstrating teamwork, self-motivation, detail orientation, and professionalism
- Life Sciences experience preferred
- GMP/GTP/CLIA experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret basic correspondence, instructions, rules, and procedures in English
- Ability to make decisions and judgments based on reasoning
- Ability to perform tasks carefully and check work for accuracy and completeness
- Strong attention to detail for repetitive tasks
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, including basic and intermediate functions
- Ability to reach, lift, and bend
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Right- and left-hand finger dexterity
- Ability to discern colors or use color-correction glasses
- Ability to work with refrigerants such as dry ice and liquid nitrogen using proper PPE
- Ability to work in areas with potentially infectious materials and follow Universal Precautions
