About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including SaaS agreements, software licenses, service agreements, nondisclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and employment contracts
  • Ensure contracts are compliant with applicable laws and regulations, align with company polies, and mitigate risk
  • Support the General Counsel on advising internal stakeholders on the legal aspects of SaaS transactions and technology-related contracts
  • Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, and terminations to comply with labor laws
  • Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact company operations and advise on necessary adjustments
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures related to contract management, regulatory compliance, and employment law, providing day-to-day legal advice to various internal stakeholders
  • Be a key member of the legal team willing to step in and contribute where necessary to accomplish tasks and solve problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to and good standing with the Texas state bar
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience as an attorney with a corporate legal department or law firm preferred
  • Large firm experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, intellectual property, and other related areas of law
  • Knowledge of technology law, SaaS industry standards, and employment law would be a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Litigation support through all aspects of a case (preparation, management, mediation, arbitration)
  • Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deliver under tight deadlines and energized by the opportunity to solve problems
  • Experience with a contract management software is a plus
