Data Scientist

• Develop, implement, and optimize LLMs and computer vision algorithms for processing and analyzing biomedical text and image data.
• Design and develop software tools and pipelines for automated image analysis, data integration, and visualization, leveraging machine learning and deep learning techniques.
• Collaborate with biologists and other researchers to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions, incorporating state-of-the-art AI methodologies.
• Perform data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning on large-scale biomedical imaging datasets to extract meaningful insights and improve predictive accuracy.
• Validate and benchmark AI-driven imaging algorithms and tools to ensure their accuracy, robustness, and scalability.
• Document software development processes, create user manuals, and provide training and support to end-users, particularly focusing on AI applications.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, computer vision, biomedical imaging, computational biology, and data science, and apply this knowledge to improve existing tools and methodologies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, present findings, and contribute to scientific publications and grant proposals, emphasizing AI and computer vision innovations.
• Identify and implement new AI technologies and frameworks to enhance the capabilities of biomedical imaging tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of code packaging, containerization technologies, and continuous integration pipelines.
• DevOps experience with Kubernetes and workflow automation is a plus.

Data Scientist II

Product Designer

• Lead User Research: Conduct interviews, workshops, and usability tests with our diverse users (clinical researchers, data scientists, institutional administrators) to deeply understand their workflows, needs, and pain points.
• Map Complex Workflows: Design and visualize complete user journeys, information architectures, and process flows for everything from multi-stage data access requests to iterative cohort building.
• Create and Prototype: Develop the full range of design artifacts, from low-fidelity wireframes and user flow diagrams to high-fidelity, pixel-perfect mockups and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma or Sketch.
• Translate Governance into UI: Take complex, abstract governance policies and data privacy rules and translate them into clear, simple, and unambiguous UI elements, guidance, and user feedback.
• Build a Design System: Create and maintain a comprehensive design system and component library to ensure a consistent, accessible, and high-quality user experience across all applications.
• Collaborate and Iterate: Work in an Agile environment, partnering directly with the Senior Full Stack Engineer, product leadership, and federal stakeholders to iterate on designs and bring your vision to life.
• Test and Validate: Plan and execute usability testing to validate your designs, and use the feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Senior UX/UI Designer

Full-stack Engineer

• Lead End-to-End Development: Own the complete design, development, and deployment of the DAME, the Phenotype Builder, and all associated web platforms.
• Architect a Secure Backend: Engineer a robust, API-driven backend to manage complex business logic, including user authentication, authorization, multi-tenant permissions, and intricate data access workflows.
• Build an Intuitive Frontend: Create a modern, responsive, and state-of-the-art user interface for all applications, focusing on UI/UX best practices to make complex data and workflows understandable and easy to manage.
• Engineer Data-Intensive Applications: Design the Phenotype Builder to interact with large-scale aggregate data, providing researchers with near-real-time feedback while maintaining strict privacy controls.
• Manage the Full SDLC: Drive development using Agile sprint cycles, implement comprehensive automated testing, manage deployments through CI/CD pipelines across all environments, and own all four pillars of production maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective, and preventative).
• Integrate and Collaborate: Work with platform vendors to define and test requirements for core 'Dynamic Workspace' infrastructure, and manage core application databases for master lists of agreements, IRBs, and sites.

Senior Full Stack Engineer

• Architect Core Interoperability Libraries: Design, build, and maintain high-performance libraries in Python (and potentially Rust) for mapping, transforming, and validating massive clinical datasets.
• Develop Declarative Data Mapping Engines: Create sophisticated tools that allow domain experts to define complex data transformations using simple, clear, domain-specific languages (DSLs), separating the "what" from the "how."
• Build Advanced Terminology Services: Engineer libraries that handle the complex logic of mapping clinical terminologies, normalizing units of measure, and ensuring semantic consistency across disparate datasets.
• Create Robust Data Model Abstractions: Develop strongly-typed data access layers and handlers that abstract away the underlying storage (e.g., SQL databases, Parquet files, JSON documents), presenting a unified interface for data manipulation.
• Champion Software Engineering Excellence: Drive best practices in API design, testing, documentation, and tooling. You will produce libraries that are not only powerful but also a pleasure for other developers to use.
• Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with data engineers, informaticians, and scientists to understand their deepest challenges and create the foundational tools they need to succeed.
