About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze claim exposure using critical thinking, judgment, and best-practice claims handling
  • Determine the proper course of action and pursue claims to conclusion
  • Set accurate and timely claim reserves and refer matters to senior team members when necessary
  • Obtain relevant policies and review policy wordings to validate coverage
  • Prepare coverage positions for Claim Manager review and approval
  • Work with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and brokers to maintain premier claims service
  • Document claim file notes, store electronic documents, and record claim details accurately and promptly
  • Develop knowledge of legal frameworks and claims handling practices in relevant jurisdictions
  • Monitor and investigate assigned claims and develop resolution strategies
  • Attend mediation, arbitration, and other claims meetings as needed
  • Participate in presentations and discussions with underwriters
  • Validate indemnity and fee payments and ensure accurate, prompt processing
  • Set up files accurately with proper coding, LOB, Danger Signal, and CAT Codes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; JD a plus
  • Claims adjuster license required
  • Valid adjusting licenses in required states and additional states as needed
  • Minimum of 4–8 years of claims adjusting experience
  • Experience handling cyber primary and excess claims
  • Experience handling first-party and third-party privacy liability claims
  • Experience handling media liability and technology errors and omissions claims is a plus
  • Expert comfort with remote and work-from-home virtual working practices and platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of individual and group performance metrics and KPIs
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and SharePoint is a plus
  • Availability for occasional travel
  • Positive, flexible, organized, efficient, timely team player
