About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters related to oil and gas exploration, production, and transportation, including environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and land use issues.
Draft and negotiate oil and gas agreements, including leases, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, processing agreements, and pipeline contracts.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government laws and regulations.
Provide expert legal advice and support to energy-sector clients.
Collaborate with leading Oil & Gas clients to shape legal strategies and drive business success.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active bar license in the state in which you reside.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience practicing law, focused on oil and gas law.
Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws and regulations governing the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of the Mineral Leasing Act, Clean Air Act, and Natural Gas Act.
Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) agreements.
Experience advising on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions and projects.
Experience with energy commodities, especially pipelines and terminals.
Experience counseling on energy compliance matters.
Energy-specific data centre experience involving acquisitions, leases, commercial contracts, power purchase agreements, power supply, or utilities.
FERC regulatory experience.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Ability to advise clients effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Necessary legal authorization to work; employment may be contingent on a background check and proof of identity.
