About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare, draft, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications across a variety of technical disciplines
Develop and manage strategic patent portfolios aligned with clients' business objectives
Partner with inventors, engineers, scientists, and business stakeholders to identify and protect new innovations
Conduct invention disclosure reviews, patentability assessments, and freedom-to-operate analyses
Provide strategic counseling on patent prosecution, portfolio development, licensing, and intellectual property risk
Coordinate with outside counsel and foreign associates on global patent prosecution matters
Support technology commercialization, licensing, and innovation initiatives
Stay current on developments in patent law and emerging technologies affecting clients' businesses

Requirements

What you’ll need

6–15+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law
Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Strong patent drafting and prosecution experience in one or more of the following technical areas:
Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
Mechanical Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Computer Science / Software
Artificial Intelligence
Energy Storage & Battery Technologies
Electrical Engineering
Life Sciences
Excellent written communication and technical drafting skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional business and technical teams
