About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary legal contact for assigned California hospitals, providing day-to-day legal counsel to hospital leadership and operational teams.
- Research and analyze federal and California healthcare laws and regulations to advise on regulatory compliance, operational legal issues, and risk management.
- Draft and review contracts, legal memoranda, policies, procedures, guidance documents, and training materials.
- Advise on a broad range of healthcare regulatory and hospital operations matters, including patient care, licensing, accreditation, and medical staff issues.
- Independently manage legal matters while collaborating with the broader legal team on specialized or escalated issues.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active California Bar license required.
- 5–8 years of legal experience.
- Experience practicing healthcare regulatory law, either in-house or at a law firm.
- Prior experience advising hospitals, health systems, or healthcare providers.
- Strong legal research, writing, drafting, analytical, communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills.
