About the role

  • Conduct legal research on insurer and HMO licensure requirements and compile clear, organized documentation of findings.
  • Identify licensure filing needs and accurately document all associated state and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain a task entry in the Teams Channel for each assigned filing.
  • Partner with the Project Manager (PM) throughout the full lifecycle of each project, including planning, submission, and approval.
  • Collaborate with the PM to establish timelines for initial and follow‑up licensure filings.
  • Participate in regular project meetings and ad hoc discussions as needed.
  • Prepare filing materials (forms, exhibits, supporting documentation) and submit them to the appropriate state agencies.
  • Provide consistent, timely status updates and communicate with state regulators as needed.
  • Review filing packages during internal review to ensure all requirements are satisfied and share feedback with the PM.
  • Respond to questions from internal stakeholders and provide guidance on filing requirements and status.
  • Monitor and report on state feedback, coordinate and submit follow‑up filings, and notify the PM upon completion and state approval.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Secretary team to issue change notices following state approval.
  • Ensure all filing materials, submissions, state feedback, and approvals (including Certificates of Authority when applicable) are archived in the Licensing COE shared drive.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with insurer and/or HMO licensure, regulatory filings, or a closely related compliance function.
  • Familiarity with the NAIC Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA) and related subsections.
  • Proficiency in conducting research via State Insurance Department websites, bulletins, and applicable statutes/regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple filings, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document research clearly and communicate with regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing, reviewing, and archiving filing materials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., Teams, shared drives) for tracking, maintaining, and organizing project documentation.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
