About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support execution of Axiom Space’s federal government affairs strategy, with a focus on Capitol Hill engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with congressional offices, committees (e.g., House Science, Senate Commerce, Appropriations), and relevant staff
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative and regulatory developments impacting commercial spaceflight, NASA programs, and space commerce
  • Assist in drafting policy memos, briefing materials, testimony, and correspondence for internal leadership and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate meetings, briefings, and events with policymakers and industry partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, communications, and technical teams to ensure policy alignment and message consistency
  • Supporting business development, sales, international government relations as needed
  • Track appropriations, authorization bills, and emerging policy proposals relevant to Axiom Space’s business lines
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years of professional experience on Capitol Hill (e.g., congressional office, committee staff) or equivalent government affairs experience
  • Working knowledge of U.S. space policy, including NASA programs, commercial space regulations, and relevant federal agencies (e.g., NASA, FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation, Department of Commerce)
  • Bachelor’s degree required (public policy, political science, engineering, or related field preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear policy narratives
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Existing relationships on Capitol Hill are strongly preferred
