About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support execution of Axiom Space’s federal government affairs strategy, with a focus on Capitol Hill engagement
Build and maintain relationships with congressional offices, committees (e.g., House Science, Senate Commerce, Appropriations), and relevant staff
Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative and regulatory developments impacting commercial spaceflight, NASA programs, and space commerce
Assist in drafting policy memos, briefing materials, testimony, and correspondence for internal leadership and external stakeholders
Coordinate meetings, briefings, and events with policymakers and industry partners
Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, communications, and technical teams to ensure policy alignment and message consistency
Supporting business development, sales, international government relations as needed
Track appropriations, authorization bills, and emerging policy proposals relevant to Axiom Space’s business lines
Perform additional job duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5 years of professional experience on Capitol Hill (e.g., congressional office, committee staff) or equivalent government affairs experience
Working knowledge of U.S. space policy, including NASA programs, commercial space regulations, and relevant federal agencies (e.g., NASA, FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation, Department of Commerce)
Bachelor’s degree required (public policy, political science, engineering, or related field preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear policy narratives
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Existing relationships on Capitol Hill are strongly preferred
