About the role

  • Serve as senior Field HR Business Partner for branch(es) with high sales volume reporting to Regional HR Director and dotted line to Senior Director of Operations
  • Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationship with Sr. Director of Operations and advise on engagement, retention, training and discipline
  • Establish and maintain visible and positive HR presence among associates and operations managers
  • Direct activities of assigned HR staff to address associate relations issues and problems
  • Establish and maintain positive labor relations; participate in arbitrations, grievances, and contract negotiations and ensure operations managers understand CBA
  • Partner with Loss Prevention, Accounting, Supply Chain and other departments to support operations objectives
  • Direct recruiting lifecycle and the delivery of onboarding, orientation, and training
  • Communicate regularly with peers and Regional HRD about HR trends, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
  • Maintain knowledge of HR trends, technical, regulatory, and statutory requirements and conduct confidential HR investigations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws, collective bargaining agreements and corporate HR policies; administer company and local HR policies
  • Act as supervisor, mentor and primary resource to other HR professionals on site

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent
  • Ability to analyze information to recommend resolutions to complex problems and strategic challenges
  • Technical HR knowledge associated with obtaining and maintaining a HRCI SPHR certification or equivalent
  • 7-10 years of experience in HR with 3-5 years of HR management experience (including the supervision of other HR staff)
  • Demonstrated competency in the development of HR strategies and associate engagement
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and policy documents; excellent problem-solving and writing skills
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships and experience working with other departments
  • Strong working knowledge of employment-related local/state/federal regulations
  • Proficiency with HRIS and business software/systems and expertise in preparing documents, spreadsheets and presentations
  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple projects and manage remote direct reports
  • Ability to lead and be a member of a team; ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Availability for national, regional, and area travel up to 50% of the time
