About the role
- Execute the development of power electronics systems by understanding requirements, defining technological solutions and architectures, and coordinating integration, calibration, verification, and validation activities.
- Define and Review CAN communication architecture (inputs/outputs) and software behavior logic (e.g., fault handling, safe shutdown, error signaling).
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards and regulations.
- Operate within AVL’s reference project organization for product development.
- Coordinate collaboration between customers, engineering domains, skill areas, and suppliers.
- Act as technical lead within the power electronics system development project.
- Document and present development solutions and test results to stakeholders, including release documentation.
- Contribute to project planning and participate in project meetings.
- Coordinate and execute performance analysis to optimize the power electronics system.
- Support project time-planning and deliverable generation.
- Maintain documentation within the development toolchain, including system descriptions, requirements, solutions, and test cases.
- Manage integration and validation plans for the power electronics system.
- Define test cases and sequences according to the verification plan.
- Monitor test execution and report deviations.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for milestone and quality gate reviews.
- Apply system development processes and methods, understanding both generic and product-specific approaches.
- Stay updated with technological trends and development methodologies.
- Troubleshoot specific technical issues related to power electronics systems.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of power electronics, in particular power electronics, including their functions and integration within the vehicle architecture.
- Basic understanding of several other vehicle systems.
- Solid understanding of in-vehicle communication networks (e.g., CAN).
- Experience with requirements engineering tools.
- Previous experience in OEM or Tier 1 projects.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (DOORS, Polarion or similar).
- Knowledge of simulation and modeling environments (Simulink, SysML).
- Familiarity with modern development processes and methods.
- Ability to manage the lifecycle of systems engineering items and work-products.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
