About the role
- Administer registered plans and process requests such as deregistrations, plan terminations, specialized withdrawals, etc.
- Ensure contributions, registrations and withdrawals comply with the regulatory timeframes applicable to RESP, RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, FHSA, etc.
- Review, process and settle all registered plan requests within the timelines set by service level agreements and escalate any issues requiring management review and intervention
- Conduct registered plan audits with the OCRI within internal and regulatory deadlines
- Work closely with tax, estates, transfers, new accounts and client account management teams on any updates required for registered plans
- Actively participate in registered plan committee meetings to ensure fiduciary and regulatory changes are reflected in procedures and manuals, which must be kept up to date
- Monitor regulatory developments from the CRA, Revenu Québec, Employment and Social Development Canada and trustee regulations by consulting legislation, press releases and relevant industry bulletins
Requirements
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in registered plans or operations
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills and a keen attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solving ability and strong analytical skills
- Exceptional focus on customer service
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with a quality assurance mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
