About the role

  • Ensure daily settlement totals reconcile with the central securities depository.
  • Maintain daily settlement reports and request fund transfers for transaction settlement.
  • Monitor trade and transaction rejects, identify issues and correct them in the system or notify the credit union of necessary corrections.
  • Process purchases, settlements, reconciliations and maturities of GICs.
  • Process trades and settlements for mutual funds in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Review and complete financial and non-financial adjustments.
  • Review requests to ensure they are complete and accurate, communicating with internal staff and partners to verify and confirm details as required.
  • Communicate with mutual fund companies via letters of indemnity, email or telephone to correct and resolve issues.
  • Respond promptly to faxes received from fund companies and credit unions.
  • Respond promptly to requests from other Aviso departments.
  • Support external and internal partners by using the most efficient processing methods and recommending solutions for timely and accurate issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or professional development in a related field is an asset.
  • At least one year of experience within the operations department of a financial services firm, preferably in transaction services.
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course or the IFIC Operations Course is an asset.
  • Proficiency in both French and English (written and oral) to communicate effectively with partners, clients and colleagues across Canada.
  • Experience with Dataphile, Fundserv and capital markets is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently to meet required objectives while complying with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Creative and flexible approach to problem-solving.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.
