About the role
- Ensure daily settlement totals reconcile with the central securities depository.
- Maintain daily settlement reports and request fund transfers for transaction settlement.
- Monitor trade and transaction rejects, identify issues and correct them in the system or notify the credit union of necessary corrections.
- Process purchases, settlements, reconciliations and maturities of GICs.
- Process trades and settlements for mutual funds in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Review and complete financial and non-financial adjustments.
- Review requests to ensure they are complete and accurate, communicating with internal staff and partners to verify and confirm details as required.
- Communicate with mutual fund companies via letters of indemnity, email or telephone to correct and resolve issues.
- Respond promptly to faxes received from fund companies and credit unions.
- Respond promptly to requests from other Aviso departments.
- Support external and internal partners by using the most efficient processing methods and recommending solutions for timely and accurate issue resolution.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education or professional development in a related field is an asset.
- At least one year of experience within the operations department of a financial services firm, preferably in transaction services.
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course or the IFIC Operations Course is an asset.
- Proficiency in both French and English (written and oral) to communicate effectively with partners, clients and colleagues across Canada.
- Experience with Dataphile, Fundserv and capital markets is an asset.
- Ability to work independently to meet required objectives while complying with regulatory and company requirements.
