About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Produce and deliver effective internal and external stakeholder communications
  • Coordinate with Program Executive Office public affairs
  • Facilitate communications between media, squadrons, industry partners, NAVAIR IPTs, and other agencies
  • Write articles, captions, briefs, presentations, news media strategies, crisis media response plans, key messaging, media query responses, press releases, feature articles, talking points/speeches, social media posts, and awards
  • Support senior leadership interview preparation and media training
  • Plan and coordinate events and protocol activities
  • Promote or create an intended public image for individuals, groups, or organizations
  • Design multimedia and graphic products including infographics, illustrations, logos/branding, photography, image editing, and publication design
  • Collaborate with AVIAN’s creative professionals through peer reviews, shared resources, and continuing education sessions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Three to ten years of combined experience performing the listed responsibilities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Experience supporting NAVAIR desired
  • Microsoft Teams and SharePoint experience
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to write in alignment with AP style and government guidelines
  • Flexible team player and self-starter with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment or autonomously
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical project schedules
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Experience with Microsoft Forms, Planner, SharePoint, and Power Automate is a plus
