About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute a five-year strategic automation roadmap to outline long-term investment opportunities
- Define the technical scope for MG-NA automation projects, including AGVs, robotics, and cobots
- Lead and coordinate complex, long-term engineering projects from inception to completion within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
- Act as a technical mentor, providing guidance and coaching to site-level technical teams on automation solutions
- Partner with international regions to benchmark and transfer best-in-class Avery Dennison automation solutions worldwide
- Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on major contracts and projects, interacting with senior external personnel and internal leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific field is required
- Minimum of 6+ years of engineering, research, or scientific experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 4+ years with a Master’s degree)
- Strong background in industrial electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; must be able to complete difficult technical assignments without immediate supervision
- Proficiency in AutoCAD to develop and update complex drawings (P&IDs, PFDs)
- Experience with MS Project or Smartsheet for project tracking
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma and ELS (Avery Dennison's Enterprise Lean Sigma) principles preferred
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes and capital equipment purchasing
- Strong verbal and written skills; ability to interface effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute requirements
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestic and international, based on business needs
