About the role

  • Responsible for leading a team of field-based Key Account Managers (KAMs) to successfully achieve the Qutenza® commercial strategy for their region.,Builds and role models for the region a customer and patient-centric culture founded Averitas’s values with absolute adherence to all compliance regulations.,Responsible for all commercial field-related activities and achieving business targets in their region through the leadership of their account managers.,Includes hiring, coaching (including in the field), and ongoing development of their teams in alignment with Averitas values and defined sales objectives.,Lead the successful execution of the Commercial strategy for their region by regularly meeting/exceeding sales goals.,Contribute to the national sales objectives by achieving sales goals.,Business planning and execution including reviewing performance metrics, developing account sales forecasts, aligned goals and call plans.,Spend regular time in the field with your team members to ensure implementation and to coach on performance.,Develop expert-level clinical and marketplace knowledge relative to Qutenza® and pain management.,Role model effective key account management including observing and engaging in customer interactions with KAMs and SAMs and providing on-going coaching and support.,Implement performance-based management, including performance review, job training, and personal development plans.,Recruit a team of high-performing Key Account Managers.,Ensure a regional team environment prided on high ethical standards and absolute adherence to all compliance regulations.,Establish strong relationships with KEEs and key external stakeholders (HCPs, payers, professional organizations, academia, etc.).,Partner with Commercial Operations to monitor sales progress and develop coaching plans to improve sales team effectiveness.,Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally across commercial areas of the business (Sales Operations, Commercial training, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited Institution required or equivalent experience.,Advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience.,7+ years in pharmaceutical/medical sales, with demonstrated progression of responsibility.,3+ years direct management of a field sales team including first line leadership experience within biotech or pharmaceutical industry sales.,Expertise and experience of selling within in buy and bill or specialty product promotion, utilizing Specialty Pharmacy and HUB services, including multiple customer sites of care.,Must be able to live and work within the territory in accordance with the company’s policy for field based roles.,The ability to travel 50%-80%, including overnights, as dictated by business need.,Current possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
