About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for operating MRI equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians.
  • Performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and procedures.
  • Prepares patients and adjusts equipment for performing MRI.
  • Positions and instructs patients regarding procedures.
  • Is competent with IV injections for the administration of IV contrast media.
  • Performs MRI procedures accurately and efficiently and according to established standards.
  • Coordinates daily schedules for efficiency and assesses exam completion.
  • Assists with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation.
  • Maintains all records/reports required for the MRI area (i.e. patient records, volume records and equipment records).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school or hospital-based Radiologic Technology Program
  • Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
  • Less than 1 year
  • Thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures, physiology and human anatomy
