About the role
- Provide strategic oversight and guide the policy and advocacy strategy to advance the mission of Avera.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to state and federal legislation, regulations, and emerging trends that impact healthcare access, affordability, and quality.
- Build strong relationships with policymakers, government agencies, industry associations, and community partners to shape public policy priorities.
- Develop policy briefs, position statements, and educational materials to inform leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Public Policy, Political Science, Health Care Administration, Public Health, or related field.
- 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in public policy, government affairs, or advocacy, with at least 2 years in healthcare or nonprofit sectors
- Demonstrated experience analyzing legislation and regulations, preparing policy briefs, and advising leadership on advocacy strategies.
