About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive test automation for a backend-heavy fund trading platform in banking, working with Java, event-driven systems, and CI/CD in a role with real impact.
- Join a high-impact team in the banking sector that builds and maintains a platform for investment fund trading.
- Take ownership of test automation strategy and help shape how quality is built into the full development lifecycle.
- Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product stakeholders across UI, API, and integration layers.
- Design and implement scalable, reusable test automation frameworks.
- Build and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers.
- Develop automation for functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Perform manual testing where automation is not the best fit, including exploratory testing.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
- Prepare and manage test data, analyze outcomes, and report defects clearly.
- Improve testing processes by automating repetitive workflows.
- Work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience balancing automation and manual testing.
- Proficiency in Java (21+).
- Experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright, JUnit / TestNG, and Cucumber or similar.
- Experience with API testing using REST Assured or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience testing event-driven systems such as Kafka, JMS, or MQ.
- Familiarity with OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns.
- Experience testing complex distributed backend systems.
- Ability to design structured manual test cases and perform exploratory testing.
- Fluent English.
