About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee a large field sales organization and deliver sustainable business growth across the region
  • Translate commercial strategy into regional plans that accelerate revenue growth, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market presence
  • Drive business development for self-manufactured materials in bioprocessing within a complex European matrix organization
  • Influence and steer teams and individuals outside the formal reporting line
  • Partner with senior commercial leaders to align regional efforts with broader business objectives
  • Solve complex sales and operational challenges while optimizing team performance and resource deployment
  • Develop and execute business strategies across multiple European markets
  • Collaborate with country sales managers and cross-functional teams to achieve commercial objectives
  • Grow customer and distributor relationships and increase sales
  • Achieve sales, net contribution, working capital, annual sales, and gross margin targets
  • Prepare sales forecasts, conduct trend analysis, and drive target achievement
  • Develop strategies and implement plans for profitable sales growth
  • Improve operational efficiency through discipline in DSO, finished-goods days, and outstanding balances
  • Communicate and implement company policies, procedures, and business ethics within the team
  • Collaborate with marketing to increase market awareness
  • Monitor market challenges and trends and provide strategic direction
  • Improve sales pipeline transparency, forecast management, and sales-tool usage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry or another related discipline
  • 10–12 years of sales experience in the Fine Chemical industry
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience at the same level in a similar industry
  • Experience developing and leading successful teams that deliver consistent results
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to drive a sales team
  • Understanding of customer and market dynamics
