About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and expand strategic customer relationships as the primary executive-level contact for assigned major accounts
  • Develop understanding of customer business objectives, scientific priorities, and operational challenges to drive partnership, retention, and growth
  • Identify strategic opportunities using data, customer insights, and market trends to expand Avantor’s portfolio share
  • Lead cross-functional account execution with local and global internal teams and external partners
  • Own account planning, forecasting, and performance management
  • Build and sustain senior-level stakeholder relationships and lead strategic customer conversations
  • Manage complex customer interactions using listening, organizational, and consultative questioning skills
  • Analyze sales and account data to inform strategy and optimize account performance
  • Manage time, priorities, and account complexity with autonomy and accountability
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing strategies, contract structures, and long-term agreements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College degree or equivalent/applicable experience, preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a complex sales environment with solution-based selling
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Teams
  • Preference for experience with Salesforce, SAP C4C, or Clikview
  • B2B sales experience
  • Distribution experience preferred
  • Scientific background and/or experience in a laboratory or research environment preferred
  • Verifiable sales success driving growth through consultative, strategic selling
  • Experience in a fast-paced, targeted environment with high team interaction
  • Ability to use selling processes such as SPIN and Consultative Selling
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations a minimum of 4 days per week
  • Ideal candidate based in or near the Twin Cities area
