About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft, review, and revise agreements, including form agreements for routine sales activities
- Advise on the review of complex IT vendor agreements and digital product contracting efforts
- Develop and support the development of playbooks and templates for consistent legal review across IT, security engagements and technology agreements
- Assist with the review of data processing agreements
- Ensure alignment with IT and business strategies
- Determine when complex legal and factual issues must be escalated to senior attorneys and assist in resolution of issues
- Assist in creating, implementing and managing systems that enable the efficient creation, negotiation, oversight and execution of Avantor’s agreements
- Coordinate contract negotiation with multiple cross-departmental functions
- Identify opportunities for process improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5 - 10 years applicable professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Experience handling multiple matters at the same time and meeting quick turnaround deadlines
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical legal guidance for cross-functional teams
- Demonstrates excellent judgment
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate
- Initiates, embraces and drives change in a dynamic environment
- Works well independently and in a team
- Experience providing timely and strategic legal advice
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
