About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for purchasing commodity products, chemicals, equipment, and supplies
  • Manage daily purchase order management and solve complex problems
  • Support Marketing and S&OP team and assist in pricing and product issues
  • Own and resolve daily tactical supply chain issues, including backorder resolution
  • Assist in supplier planning sessions
  • Proactively analyze and optimize inventory investment
  • Liaise between Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Suppliers
  • Ensure purchase orders align with Customer need dates
  • Evaluate suppliers based on capability, performance, and delivery
  • Review to prevent/minimize stock-outs
  • Work with suppliers to improve delivery dates and lead time
  • Manage supply chain standard operating procedures
  • Embrace innovation and contribute ideas for improvement
  • Lead process improvement projects when necessary.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Business, or Mathematics or equivalent experience required
  • 2-5+ years working in a procurement capacity
  • APICS/CPIM certification desirable
  • Proficient in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Work experience in a matrix environment desirable
  • Formal problem solving training highly desirable, i.e. Six Sigma
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Focus oriented with attention to detail
  • Solid negotiating skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct oversight.
