About the role

  • Report to the Regional Director and work closely with Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals
  • Perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols to serve customers
  • Oversee a span of multiple customers, personnel, and service solutions
  • Potential to manage Scientific Services and/or GxP-compliant services
  • Coach, motivate, and supervise team members to meet/exceed goals and objectives
  • Act as a liaison between the customer, Avantor Services, and Avantor Sales
  • Provide training and backup to associates to perform required tasks
  • Manage budget and review/approve expense reports
  • Customer reporting and data analysis
  • Serve as a role model and mentor and support professional growth of associates
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously review goals and objectives aligned with corporate goals
  • Monitor and report on actual performance vs. established goals and objectives
  • Plan, develop, and implement programs and procedures to improve productivity and profitability
  • Handle administrative duties such as associate performance appraisals, time card review, vacation scheduling, and performance issues
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, SOWs, SPIs, and KPIs
  • Conduct internal and external presentations
  • Ensure GxP compliance and good documentation practices
  • Manage revenue growth and TOE reduction

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership role managing associates within a service or scientific operations environment
  • Understanding of and ability to consistently administer Avantor’s policies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues
  • Proficiency in tools such as Workday, Excel, and other reporting platforms
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams (preferred)
  • Familiarity with GMP and GLP standards (training a plus)
  • Spill containment, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and HAZWOPER training (a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to interact with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Self-managed, self-motivated, and forward-thinking
  • Ability to make sound business decisions with limited consultation
  • Ability to travel 30-35% as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
