About the role
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimize complex database environments
- Ensure data security, integrity, availability, and performance
- Lead advanced initiatives including disaster recovery planning and ETL processes
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams and mentor junior DBAs
- Monitor, identify, and optimize database performance
- Implement access controls and security policies
- Develop and execute data backup and disaster recovery plans
- Perform routine system health checks and automation of tasks
- Provide advanced support and root cause analysis for complex database issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (experience may substitute)
- 6+ years of experience in database management
- Deep knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, cloud DBs (Azure, AWS), ETL, HA/DR solutions (AlwaysOn, Data Guard)
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft Azure, AWS) can be beneficial
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Reads and writes English as demonstrated by clear and concise written and verbal communications
