About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage multiple agile teams in execution and management of Availity’s quality processes
- Lead program-level quality planning
- Manage staffing assignments, coaching, and team performance
- Oversee test planning and execution
- Drive cross-organizational collaboration and communication for quality-driven outcomes
- Develop team members while delivering best-in-class quality program deliverables
- Drive test automation initiatives and use AI to improve organizational and individual efficiency
- Own product quality and team advancement
- Evaluate test results, prepare change requests, and generate product-quality measures
- Partner with developers, product managers/owners, and system analysts on test planning, automation, execution, and product validation
- Attend Agile ceremonies and mentor team members
- Serve as an escalation point for QA analysts and engineers
- Approve PTO requests and assist with recruitment and onboarding
- Collect data for the Quality Organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience in business and/or systems testing
- 3+ years of experience leading technical engineering efforts involving implementation and management of IT systems
- 5+ years of experience leading teams and delivering products in an Agile environment, including managing high-performing lead-level roles
- Prior experience as a QA Supervisor/Manager is required
- Expert understanding of functional, integration, performance, and regression testing techniques
- Proven success defining quality strategy, standards, and governance across multiple teams
- Experience owning hiring decisions, performance management, and career development for QA analysts/engineers
- Experience with strategic resourcing, headcount, and capacity planning across multiple teams
- Working knowledge and administration of test management and automated testing tools
- Experience in cross-functional leadership and influence
- Strong organizational skills, project tracking, prioritization, and attention to detail
- Experience contributing to recognition and accountability cultures
- Proficiency reading and writing JavaScript, Python, C# or similar automation languages
- Hands-on experience with Cucumber and Selenium WebDriver automation code
- Experience with an IDE such as VS Code or Eclipse
- Experience with JIRA or similar Agile work-planning tools
- Experience with GitLab, Git, or similar Git-based version control
- Experience with TestRail or similar test management software
- Experience with GitLab CI or similar continuous integration tools
- Experience with New Relic, Splunk, or similar monitoring and observability tools
- Experience with SQL/MySQL for database validation
- Understanding of AWS, Azure, cloud environments, deployments, and cloud-hosted architectures
- Ability to analyze test failures, logs, stack traces, and CI pipeline output to determine root cause
- Experience using AI-assisted developer tools for test scenarios, automation scaffolding, refactoring, debugging, and code reviews, with human verification
- Ability to create lightweight AI-enabled scripts, helpers, and utilities
- Ability to mentor others on practical, validated, and safe AI usage
- Ability to use AI for meeting, objective, test-log, and code-failure summaries while verifying outputs
- Healthcare industry experience is a bonus
- Must pass a drug test before beginning employment
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is unavailable
- Must be able to use a camera for all virtual meetings
