About the role
- Lead a team of software and quality engineers
- Oversee the software engineering function in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications
- Establish procedures that produce high-quality software products and services
- Manage all aspects of Availity’s agile software development lifecycle
- Collaborate with product management partners to improve healthcare processes
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers
- Work within Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions
- Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments
- Define product scope and deadlines using an agile planning process
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or a related field of study
- 8-10+ years of delivering software products, preferably for the healthcare industry
- 5-8+ years of experience in managing teams and building relationships with a variety of organizational levels
- Experience leading teams of 20+ members
- 5+ years of delivering enterprise product software hosted in a public cloud, preferably AWS
- Ability to launch and deliver multiple projects on time
- Experience designing complex software systems
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients/vendors
- Experience driving and managing change
- Understanding of Java, .NET, HTML, XML, and databases
- Extensive knowledge of the health care/payer/insurance industry, specifically claims processing systems, provider office operations, and customer service processes
