About the role

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust Airtable solutions spanning multiple teams and business processes
  • Define data models, schema, and relationships (linked records, lookups, rollups, junction tables) for performance, maintainability, and reporting
  • Design and build advanced Airtable Interfaces and forms that provide intuitive user experiences for contributors, approvers, and leadership stakeholders
  • Translate ambiguous or high-level business requirements into structured Airtable applications and documented technical designs
  • Establish and enforce patterns for dev/test/prod environments, release management, and change control for Airtable-based solutions
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to design and optimize end-to-end workflows using Airtable, automations, and connected tools
  • Build advanced Airtable Automations (multi-step workflows, conditional logic, scheduled processes) to reduce manual work and improve data quality
  • Leverage scripting (e.g., JavaScript) and Airtable’s scripting/automation capabilities to implement custom logic, validations, and orchestration
  • Identify and deliver opportunities for standardization, reusable templates, and solution “building blocks” that can be applied across teams
  • Continuously refine solutions based on feedback, metrics, and evolving business needs
  • Design, implement, and maintain integrations between Airtable and third-party systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Productboard, Power BI, Microsoft 365, and internal platforms)
  • Use APIs, integration platforms (e.g., Power Automate, n8n, or internal tools), and scripting to create reliable, observable data flows
  • Proactively monitor integrations for health, performance, and data consistency; investigate and resolve failures and anomalies
  • Document integration patterns, error-handling approaches, and recovery processes to enable repeatable, resilient implementations
  • Partner with security, data, and platform teams to ensure integrations comply with data governance, privacy, and access control standards
  • Administer complex Airtable workspaces and environments: manage user access, roles, and workspace structure in alignment with organizational policies
  • Implement and manage SSO integrations and role-based access controls; support periodic access and security reviews
  • Define and document best practices, policies, and standards for Airtable usage across ESE and partner teams
  • Partner with security, privacy, and governance functions to ensure Airtable solutions adhere to data classification, retention, and compliance requirements
  • Serve as an L3 subject matter expert for Airtable: handle complex issues that junior admins and support staff escalate
  • Provide guidance to junior Airtable admins/builders on patterns, standards, and best practices
  • Develop and deliver training materials, documentation, and best-practice guides for internal teams and power users
  • Conduct office hours, workshops, and demos to help teams understand what’s possible and how to use Airtable solutions effectively
  • Analyze performance and usage of Airtable solutions (record volume, automation runs, interface usage, integration throughput) and optimize where needed
  • Develop dashboards and reporting (often using Airtable + Power BI or similar) to provide visibility into adoption, workflow performance, and business outcomes
  • Support license management and workspace hygiene by identifying underused workspaces, redundant solutions, and opportunities for consolidation
  • Maintain excellent documentation for active work: keep epics, user stories, and tasks up to date so status is always clear and ready for planning and reporting
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, admin SOPs, and design records for Airtable solutions and integrations
  • Participate in agile team rituals (standups, planning, refinement, retrospectives) and model strong hygiene around story updates, acceptance criteria, and work breakdown
  • Help define and evolve the overall Airtable development lifecycle, including standards for documentation, testing, and deployment

Requirements

  • 4–6+ years of experience building and administering Airtable (or similar low-code platforms)
  • Proven experience designing Airtable bases, relationships, and interfaces for complex, multi-team workflows
  • Hands-on experience implementing Airtable automations and scripts to support non-trivial business logic and process flows
  • Demonstrated experience integrating Airtable with other enterprise tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, HRIS, Productboard, BI tools) using APIs or integration platforms
  • Experience leading end-to-end delivery of Airtable-based solutions: requirements, design, build, test, rollout, and ongoing optimization
  • Strong background in end-user support, training, and documentation for business-facing systems
  • Familiarity with security and compliance standards, including data governance and access control measures in a corporate environment
  • Experience working in agile and/or ITSM-based environments (backlogs, sprints, incident/request handling)
Benefits
  • Health and financial benefits
  • Time away
  • Everyday wellness
