About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handle entry-level insurance claims under close supervision through the claim lifecycle
  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims
  • Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop knowledge of Company insurance products
  • Learn and comply with Company claim-handling procedures
  • Develop claim negotiation and settlement skills
  • Serve agents, insureds, and other stakeholders
  • Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third parties
  • Develop specialized skills, including estimating and designated computer-based loss-adjustment programs
  • Complete the Company’s claims training program for the assigned insurance line

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling
  • Ability to organize data, multitask, and make decisions independently
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write reports and compose correspondence
  • Ability to resolve complex issues
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security
  • Ability to effectively deal with a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to accurately handle mathematical problems, including geometry and financial calculations
  • Ability to drive an automobile
  • Valid driver license
  • Driving record consistent with the Company’s underwriting guidelines for coverage
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
  • Study, obtain, and maintain an adjuster’s license(s), if required by statute, within the Company’s or legal timeline
  • Continually develop product knowledge through approved educational programs
