About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle entry-level insurance claims under close supervision through the claim lifecycle
- Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop knowledge of Company insurance products
- Learn and comply with Company claim-handling procedures
- Develop claim negotiation and settlement skills
- Serve agents, insureds, and other stakeholders
- Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third parties
- Develop specialized skills, including estimating and designated computer-based loss-adjustment programs
- Complete the Company’s claims training program for the assigned insurance line
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling
- Ability to organize data, multitask, and make decisions independently
- Above average written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write reports and compose correspondence
- Ability to resolve complex issues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security
- Ability to effectively deal with a diverse group of individuals
- Ability to accurately handle mathematical problems, including geometry and financial calculations
- Ability to drive an automobile
- Valid driver license
- Driving record consistent with the Company’s underwriting guidelines for coverage
- Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
- Study, obtain, and maintain an adjuster’s license(s), if required by statute, within the Company’s or legal timeline
- Continually develop product knowledge through approved educational programs
