About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Raise funds for Autism Speaks through volunteer recruitment and management, awareness-building, corporate sponsorship solicitation, and fundraising and mission events
  • Achieve revenue goals for assigned fundraising events; current portfolio goal is $460,000
  • Establish planning timelines, income goals, expense budgets, and participant recruitment strategies with the supervisor
  • Execute events with volunteer leadership, including committee recruitment and retention
  • Implement sponsorship, corporate recruitment and retention, and mission-integration strategies
  • Support local implementation of Autism Speaks global campaigns
  • Manage day-to-day event operations, including logistics, data entry, acknowledgements, and materials management
  • Provide administrative support to volunteer committees
  • Present to businesses, organizations, and community groups to secure sponsorships and recruit teams and committee volunteers
  • Manage accounts year-round
  • Integrate digital marketing initiatives, including email campaigns, fundraising websites, and other digital outreach
  • Travel throughout New Jersey and areas of Pennsylvania to support events and programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional working experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership focused on peer-to-peer fundraising, volunteer recruitment and management, relationship-building, networking, budget management, and volunteer mobilization
  • Proven multifaceted fundraising experience in special events, multiple walk events, and corporate campaigns
  • Ability to independently recreate and implement fundraising and volunteer development plans
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Ability to prospect, recruit, manage, and develop volunteers
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgment
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365
  • Database knowledge; Raiser’s Edge and/or Luminate preferred
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
  • Ability to set up and move event materials and remain actively engaged onsite for prolonged periods
  • Regular computer use for extended periods
  • Reliable automobile, valid driver’s license, and required insurance
