Finance Officer
Australian Department of Home AffairsFinance Officer managing treasury functions and financial operations in NEMA, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. Collaborating with internal teams for efficient financial processing.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Daily management of treasury functions for the NEMA which includes departmental and administered drawdowns and cash management
- Supporting end of month financial accounting, accruals, reconciliations and asset accounting
- Coordinating with Home Affairs under shared services arrangement, accounts payable, travel and credit cards.
- Managing issues raised by internal stakeholders and monitoring the timely processing of accounts payable
- Supporting the collation of financial information for submission to other government entities
- Providing any other support required in the financial operations and financial accounting area.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A background working as a finance or administrative officer (preferably with experience in a government environment)
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Resilience and the ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment
- Personal drive and initiative
- The ability to work in a small team within a complex and fast-paced work environment.
