About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage junior colleagues to develop insights supporting clients’ strategic and investment decisions in the Mexican power market
- Manage workstreams and project teams developing timely and rigorous quantitative analyses
- Work closely with the modelling team to structure economic problems into quantifiable analyses and derive insights from model results
- Contribute to product development by identifying new opportunities, developing new business, and expanding capabilities
- Engage with clients to understand their requirements
- Identify client needs and new business opportunities
- Pitch Aurora’s offering and answer client-specific questions in calls and in-person workshops
- Communicate findings to clients and the wider public through media and webinars
- Direct ongoing research and conduct novel analyses
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 to 6 years of experience, preferably at a leading consultancy, energy company, financial services company, or other knowledge-driven firm or institution
- Degree in a relevant quantitative field, with a strong academic record and outstanding Grade Point Average
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and derive insight from complex quantitative data and information
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technically and non-technically minded parties
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial mind-set, and desire to grow the business
- Excellent written communication
- Proficiency in English (C1 level)
- Written and spoken fluency in Spanish (C2 level)
- Willingness to travel
- Demonstrated working knowledge of power markets and associated policy framework
- Knowledge of renewables and/or flexible energy technologies, such as batteries, and knowledge of the Mexican power market
- Demonstrated success in client-facing positions
- Competence in advanced data analytics, such as Python and Advanced Excel
- Relevant Master’s degree
