About the role
- Provide leadership and manage a team of 4 Business Developers while keeping and building on a positive, strong and supportive team culture.
- You will drive the generation and processing of new business leads for our full suite of services, including software, advisory and new market entry opportunities.
- You will quickly adapt to new opportunities and market changes, ensuring that the sales team can capitalise on all opportunities.
- You will oversee the selling of new services to new and existing clients, facilitating entry into new regions.
- You will oversee the qualification, development, and maintenance of sales opportunities by leveraging deep company and product knowledge, researching customer needs, and aligning our solutions to address those needs.
- You will work closely with market leads to spearhead business development campaigns, generate leads, and build strong relationships with industry leaders in both public and private sectors.
- You will oversee the organisation of onboarding workshops, ensuring a smooth transition to the Account Management team.
- You will oversee the provision of demos for our software services, ensuring that your team effectively showcase the value of our offerings.
- You will represent Aurora with a comprehensive understanding of our products at events and trade shows.
- You will support your teams in the finalisation of contracts for multi-service offerings and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring your team follows the current authorisation processes and that our contractual terms are adhered to.
- You will ensure effective logging and tracking of campaigns, account plans, and opportunities using Salesforce CRM.
- You will act as the voice of the client, gathering feedback and collaborating with the Research and Advisory teams to continuously enhance our product strategy and service offerings.
- You will provide training on product and strategy for your team, helping to build their skills and knowledge.
- You will onboard new team members, ensuring they are supported and get up to speed with all processes.
Requirements
- At least 2 years as a Sales Manager or in a related field, ideally in subscription-based data, energy analytics, or other high-tech/data-driven sectors.
- Demonstrated history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. Evidence of strategic planning and execution that has led to significant revenue growth.
- A relevant master’s degree (e.g., in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field). Advanced degrees or additional certifications in sales management or the energy sectors will be advantageous.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to creatively identify and seize business opportunities that drive substantial impact and profitability. Proven capability to strategise and implement innovative sales approaches.
- Ability to remain composed and focused under high-pressure situations.
- Skilled in managing complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders, ensuring favourable outcomes for all parties involved.
- Exceptional organisational skills with a high level of persistence and meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
- A proactive and can-do attitude with a strong willingness to contribute beyond the standard role, including improving internal systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Experience in negotiating contractual terms with clients and drafting agreements. Ability to understand and communicate complex terms and conditions clearly and effectively.
- Enthusiastic about and well-versed in energy markets and technologies. Previous professional experience in energy and power markets is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical abilities with a background in business, economics, engineering, or a related field. Ability to analyse data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively. Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and team members.
- Proven track record of success in collaborative, team-oriented environments. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in an additional language is highly desirable, with specific emphasis on languages relevant to the target markets.
