About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the corporate technical reference in mechanical engineering for hydroelectric generation assets, defining guidelines and best practices for Kaplan turbines and hydromechanical equipment.
- Lead complex studies, diagnostics and analyses, considering technical, operational, financial and regulatory impacts.
- Define standards, methodologies and technical criteria related to reliability, maintenance, modernization and asset life-cycle management.
- Conduct critical failure and performance analyses, establishing guidelines for risk mitigation and elimination of systemic causes.
- Structure engineering solutions for strategic challenges, guiding technical decisions with a focus on business outcomes.
- Technically lead significant modernization, continuous improvement and asset management projects with minimal supervision.
- Establish technical criteria for contracting services, procuring equipment and evaluating commercial proposals.
- Serve as the primary technical interface among plants, suppliers, manufacturers, consultancies and corporate areas.
- Review and validate studies, projects and engineering solutions, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and industry best practices.
- Support the definition of investment strategies and asset management, influencing long-term decisions.
- Act as a technical mentor, disseminating knowledge and strengthening organizational competencies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in engineering, performance analysis and monitoring of hydroelectric assets
- Experience in maintenance, modernization and/or refurbishments of Kaplan and Francis turbines
- Solid experience in hydroelectric plants (minimum of 15 years)
- Intermediate or advanced English
- Availability to travel
